Rain Barrel Workshop in Fauquier
I think we all need to do a little rain dance for this one! With water restrictions now in place we need to conserve what we can. Rain barrels are such a great idea, and this is a great opportunity to learn how to make your own, and at a fraction of the cost of buying one.
John Marshall Soil and Water Conservation District and Virginia Cooperative Extension will sponsor a Rain Barrel Workshop on August 23, 2008 at the Extension Office, 24 Pelham Street Warrenton. The workshop is 9:00am - 11:00am.
Registration is limited. The registration fee is $45 and there is a limit of one barrel per family or participant.
Each participant will receive a barrel, hardware, and instruction so they will leave the workshop with a completed rain barrel. Tools and help will be provided. The barrels are black and stand about 38 inches tall by 24 inches wide and hold 55 gallons of water.
To register, mail or bring a check for $45 payable to John Marshall SWCD located at 98 Alexandria Pike, Suite 31, Warrenton, VA 20186. Please note Rain Barrel Workshop on the memo line. No registrations will be accepted by phone, however, for more information on the workshop, call the John Marshall SWCD at 540-347-3120 x 3.
