Regional Winners–National Cheese Contest
At the recently completed United States Championship Cheese Contest in Green Bay, Wisconsin, two of our regional favorites scored impressive wins. Out of a possible 100 points, Cherry Glen Farm earned 99.45 for its bloomy-rind Monacacy Ash–that impressive number earned it a bronze medal! You can taste their cheeses at local favorites including Lansdowne Resort, Fire Works Pizza, Magnolia’s at the Mill, The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm, and Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm. That in itself is an impressive win!
Also, Everona Dairy received a 97.95, a Third Award, in the Hard Sheep’s Milk category, for its Shenandoah product. The big news for Dr. Pat Elliott and the Dairy is that in May they will be opening an new creamery and store. All tours are by appointment.
