A Double Win: History and Wine
If you’ve been planning on visiting James Monroe’s Ash Lawn-Highland and trying to fit in a tasting of Virginia wines, then score one for the perfect outing. This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, marks the 15th Annual Virginia Wine Fest. The list of winning combinations increases as you can tour the house, taste wines from over 10 wineries (including Barboursville, DelFosse, Kluge and Sugarleaf), enjoy the music of the Rock River Gypsies, and, of course, sample food from a variety of vendors including Carolina barbecue from Charlottesville’s Spry’s.
Hurry and get organized as the all-inclusive admission price of $15 is good until the 15th. After that it will cost $20.
So no excuses: A perfect weekend outing combining multiple tastes and activities for all ages.
